Panthers name Dale Tallon GM (again)

The Florida Panthers have righted last summer’s biggest blunder by reinstating Dale Tallon to the general manager position a day after the club finished the disappointing 2016-17 season.

Tallon, who was ”promoted” to President of Hockey Operations last year, takes the GM post back from Tom Rowe, who will remain with the organization as a special advisor.

The 66-year-old, who help build the Chicago Blackhawks into a perennial contender before coming to Florida, where he seemed to do the same with the Panthers until a rather curious front office restructuring took place, will immediately begin the search for a new head coach to replace the interim Rowe, who fired Gerard Gallant back in November.
