In addition to Akira Schmid signing with the Florida Panthers, Cole Sillinger and Alex Jefferies also signed new contracts on Friday, meaning all fifteen of the restricted free agents that filed for arbitration received new deals without having to go to court.
The Columbus Blue Jackets avoided arbitration by reaching an agreement with Sillinger on a three-year contract worth $13.875 million. Sillinger matched his career-high in points last season with 33 while collecting a career-best 25 assists.
The New York Islanders avoided arbitration with Jefferies by signing him to a one-year deal that carries a league-minimum $850K salary at the NHL level and a $100K AHL salary. Jefferies put up 29 points in 60 games with the Bridgeport Islanders, including a career-high 20 assists.
Nikita Klepov signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Anaheim drafted Klepov 15th overall at the NHL Draft in Buffalo on June 26. Klepov led the OHL in scoring last season, producing 37 goals and 60 assists with the Saginaw Spirit.
