Monday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

Florida Panthers prospect Anthony Greco of the host Springfield Thunderbirds thrilled the capacity crowd at MassMutual Center with an all-time AHL record in the CCM Fastest Skater event with a lap of 13.251 seconds. Greco, who made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers earlier this season, also won his individual heat in the Inglasco Puck Control Relay event.

The West won the skills competition over the East by a 17-14 score.

The AHL All-Star Challenge is tonight at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on NHL Network. Greco and T-Birds goaltender Samuel Montembeault will play for the Atlantic Division squad.

The NHL returns to action tonight with just two games on the slate as most club’s enjoy their league-mandated break. The Winnipeg Jets will visit the Philadelphia Flyers and in a game with some meaning for the Cats, the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the New Jersy Devils. Go, Devils!
