Bruins, Lightning, Predators and Sharks take two-game leads

David Pastrnak bagged a hat trick and added three assists in the Boston Bruins’ 7-3 rout of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins lead the series two games to none. The 21-year-old has four goals and five assists in the series, which ties the NHL record for most points by a player in the first two games of the playoffs.

The Tampa Bay Lightning went two up games to none on the New Jersey Devils with a 5-3 win at Amalie Arena. Alex Killorn scored twice in the second period for the Bolts.

The Nashville Predators got goals from five different players to hold off the visiting Colorado Avalanche by a 5-4 count. The Predators now hold a two games to none lead in the series.

Tomas Hertl’s goal early in the second period as the visiting San Jose Sharks beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 at Honda Center. Martin Jones made 28 saves for the Sharks, who go back home with a two games to none lead.

The Springfield Thunderbirds (32-36-5-2) were blanked 5-0 by the Providence Bruins in its home finale last night. Samuel Montembeault was pulled 6:34 into the second period after Jakob Forsbaka Karlsson notched his second goal of the game put the P-Bruins up by four, Montembeault finished with 8 saves on 12 shots. Harri Sateri stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced in relief. Dryden Hunt led the Thunderbirds with five shots on goal. The two teams will meet again this afternoon in Providence to close out the regular season.
