It’s do or die time for the Bruins and Leafs in Boston tonight
The Boston Bruins will meet the Toronto Maple Leafs in a winner take all Game Seven tonight at TD Garden to conclude the first round of the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs. Toronto has rallied to win the last two games after Boston jumped out to a 3-1 series lead.
The teams have played three other game sevens during their long rivalry. In 1941, the Bruins beat the Maple Leafs 2-1 to advance to the final where they swept the Detroit Red Wings. In 1959, Toronto defeated Boston 3-2 to win a semifinal series, going on to lose the Stanley Cup to the Montreal Canadiens. In 2013, the Bruins came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Maple Leafs 5-4 in overtime on Patrice Bergeron’s second goal of the game.
