Wednesday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

Objects are starting to appear in the rearview mirror of the Florida Panthers. The Toronto Maple Leafs extended its winning streak to three games with a will-played 4-0 shutout win over the injury-riddled Vegas Golden Knights.. Toronto joined the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres at 11 points, six behind the idle Cats. The Buds (5-4-1) have played ten games while the Lighting, also riding a three-game winning streak, Sabres and Cats have all played nine.

In other games involving Atlantic Division teams, the Montreal Canadiens got a 22-save effort from Jake Allen and blanked the Detroit Red Wings 3-0. Nick Suzuki scored his first of the season and added two assists. The loss sent the Red Wings, who were missing the unvaccinated Tyler Bertuzzi, back to NHL .500.

The Ottawa Senators overcame a slow start to earn a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild. Josh Norris collected a goal and an assist for the Senators.
