Florida Panthers in the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship
The 36th annual IIHF World U20 Championship begins on December 26, 2011. The event will be hosted in both Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The gold medal game will be played in Calgary on January 5, 2012. Seven Florida Panthers prospects from four countries will be playing along with many of the top draft-eligible prospects.
Recently promoted from Division I Latvia, defending gold medal winner Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland make up Group A. They will play their round robin games at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. Group B consists of silver medal winner Canada, Czech Republic, Division I promoted Denmark, Finland, and bronze medal winners the United States. Their round robin games will be held at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
