Panthers prospect Anton Lundell racks up six points in tour de force for HIFK

Florida Panthers prospect Anton Lundell exploded for two goals and four assists in HIFK’s 11-1 rout of Jukurit in Wednesday action from Liiga.

Lundell opened the scoring just 24 seconds into the game after he cut through the left circle and finished on the backhand.

After racking up three assists (two primary) on HIFK goals three, four and five…

the crafty 19-year-old turned on the jets and roofed a forehand from in close to make it 6-0.  The goal was his 11th of the season, establishing a new career-high in Finland’s top-tier.

Lundell would pick up the secondary assist on HIFK’s final tally of the blowout win to complete his six-point performance. He finished the game with three shots on goal and +5 rating in 19:44 TOI.

Florida’s 2020 first round pick now has 11 goals and 19 points in 14 games. Lundell is second in the league in goals, behind Arttu Ruotsalainen, and third in scoring, behind Ruotsalainen and Ryan Lasch, who each have 21 points.

Henrik Borgstrom also suited up for HIFK, his second appearance of season, but did not pick up a point in the onslaught. He did register two shots on goal in 17:22 TOI and finished the tilt with a +4 rating.
