Trio of Florida Panthers prospects in CHL action tonight

With the Florida Panthers sitting on the postseason sidelines and the San Antonio Rampage on the brink of AHL elimination, I thought now would be a good time to give a shout out to the three Cats prospects still toiling for their respective teams in the Canadian Hockey League playoffs.

Jayce Hawryluk and the Brandon Wheat Kings hold a 2-0 lead on the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Conference finals of the WHL playoffs. The winner of that series will take on the winner of Kelowna and Portland. Hawryluk has scored 7 goals and 5 assists while playing in 9 postseason tilts. He missed three games due to injury. The rugged forward has also racked up 12 PIM. Game three of the series is tonight in Calgary.

Chris Clapperton and the Rimouski Oceanic are up 2-0 on the Val-d’Or Foreurs in the QMJHL semi-finals. The winner of that series will take on the winner of Quebec and Moncton. Clapperton has appeared in all 11 of the Oceanic’s playoffs games and has posted 16 points (9G/7A). Tonight’s game three is in Val-d’Or.

Josh Brown and the Oshawa Generals are tied 1-1 with the North Bay Battalion in the Eastern Conference finals of the OHL playoffs. The winner of that series will take on the winner of Erie and Sault Ste. Marie. Brown has suited up for all 12 of the Generals playoffs tilts. The team captain has scored a goal and added an assist while collecting 13 PIM. Game three of the series is tonight in North Bay.
