Florida Panthers prospects report (stats as of 12/18)

The Springfield Thunderbirds head into another busy weekend sitting in fifth place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division with a 15-14-1 record. Springfield will host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday night before they make the trek to Hershey for Saturday and Sunday games against the third place Bears, who are currently two points ahead of the Thunderbirds in the standings.

Owen Tippett continues to lead the club in goals (11) and points (23) and he now shares the team lead in assists (12) with left wing Joel Lowry.

Florida Panthers forward Jayce Hawryluk returned to action after a long stint on injured reserve and picked up one assist in three games last week.

OHL prospect Serron Noel, selected in the second round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, has collected six points (3G/3A) in four games played during the month of December. Noel is averaging a point per game this season for the Oshawa Generals.

Spencer Knight continues to shine for the Boston College Eagles. Look for the 18-year-old to get the nod as the number one goaltender for the Americans when the 2020 World Junior Championship starts next week in the Czech Republic.

Please be advised that the Panthers will have a 11 a.m. practice this morning at the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs.

The Cats currently find themselves in sixth place today but a win on Friday could vault them as high as second provided they get the proper score board help tonight.
