Panthers re-sign forward Shane Harper

The Florida Panthers have re-signed forward Shane Harper to a one-year, two-way deal. According to General Fanager, the deal is worth $600K at the NHL level.

The 27-year-old scored 12 goals and 25 assists in 59 games with the Portland Pirates this past season. The 37 points tied him with Cameron Gaunce for the second-highest total on the team behind Rob Schremp. The Valencia, CA native added two goals in Portland’s five-game, opening round playoff loss to Hershey.

Harper, who now has six years of professional experience, is still looking to make his NHL debut. His best season was in 2014-15 with the Chicago Wolves, when he scored 32 goals and 50 points, earning him his first contract with the Panthers.
