Yandle and Connolly stirke on the man-advantage, Bobrovsky stops 30

Less than 24 hours after backstopping his club to a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, Sergei Bobrovsky was between the pipes again, this time stopping 30 shots as the Florida Panthers skated to a 5-1 win over the struggling San Jose Sharks 5-1 Sunday.

After the back-to-back victories, Bobrovsky now sports an 11-6-4 record with a 3.24 GAA and .893 save percentage,

Aleksander Barkov, Keith Yandle and Frank Vatrano each had a goal and an assist, and Mike Matheson and Brett Connolly also dented the twine to help Florida move to 3-1 on its current nine-game homestand.

Yandle game-opening goal and Connolly’s team-leading 14th marker, which put the Cats up 4-1 midway through the third period, came on the power play.

Jonathan Huberdeau and Aaron Ekblad each had two assists and Evgenii Dadonov set up Barkov’s first period redirection goal, which turned out be a the game-winner, with a pretty sweet pass. MacKenzie Weegar also drew a helper, on Vatrano’s empty-net clincher.

Kevin Labanc scored the only Sharks goal and Martin Jones made 28 saves for San Jose, who dropped a fourth-straight decision. The Sharks were outscored 12-2 in its two losses in the Sunshine State this weekend.

The Panthers maintained sole possession of second place in the Atlantic Division and now have 35 points. Florida will host the Tampa Bay Lightning who thumped the Shakes 7-1 on Saturday, on Tuesday night.
