Florida Panthers sign forward Greg McKegg to two-way deal

The Florida Panthers stayed busy adding bodies for its AHL affiliate in Portland, announcing the signing of restricted free-agent forward Greg McKegg to a one year, two-way contract yesterday. Florida has now inked three of its seven RFA players to new deals, with Jonathan Huberdeau, Alex Petrovic,Quinton Howden and John McFarland remaining unsigned.

McKegg was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in June for the rights to prospect Zach Hyman and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2017.The pick reverted back to the Panthers when the Leafs were able to come to terms with Hyman.

The 23-year-old McKegg was selected by Toronto in the third round of the 2010 Entry Draft. He scored a career-high 22 goals last season with the AHL Marlies and appeared in three games with the parent club, registering no points. McKegg has posted 108 points in 190 career AHL games.
