Sunday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Open Forum

A quiet day around the NHL yesterday, so I just wanted to wish America a Happy 245th Birthday and all of you in the Litter Box Cats community a great holiday weekend. There is a new LBC poll for Sunday.

Tomorrow night could mark the end of the 2020-21 season if the Tampa Bay Lightning go on to sweep the Montreal Canadiens, who are vowing to not go down without a fight. That sounds good, but after a disatrous performance on Friday, it looks like the Bolts will raising the Cup yet again. Hopefully, the Habs can at least get one win. I’d like to see the series carry on a little longer,

Stanley Cup Game 3 Recap

Tyler Johnson lit the lamp twice, and Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman each produced a goal and an assist as the Tampa Bay Lightning put a stranglehold on the Stanley Cup Final with a 6-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre,

Andrei Vasilevskiy finished 32 saves for Tampa Bay, will Carey Price gave up five goals on 29 for the Canadiens.

Phillip Danault, Nick Suzuki and Corey Perry scored for Montreal, which hosted its first Cup Final game since June 9, 1993, and got back head coach Dominique Ducharme, who returned after missing the previous six games and spending two weeks in quarantine following a positive COVID-19 test.

2021 Expansion Draft

Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun Times Ben Pope did a full mock draft for the Seattle Kraken. Defenseman Gustav Forsling was his selection from the Florida Panthers. You see Pope’s full list of picks here.

ICYMI, Adam Gretz did a detailed mock draft for Yardbarker that’s worth checking out. He had the Kraken signing goaltender Chris Driedger in the exclusive signing window. That, in my opinion, would be the best case scenairo for the Panthers, as Driedger wasn’t returning.
