Panthers close preseason with 1-0 shootout win over Lightning

Vincent Trocheck scored the game’s only goal in the opening round of the shootout to give the Florida Panthers a 1-0 preseason win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Saturday.

In what we all hope is a sign of things to come, Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves and added three more in the shootout to blank the Bolts.

The Panthers won three of its last four games to finish the exhibition season with a 3-4-1 record.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 28 shots for the Lightning, who finished the preseason 2-3-2

Despite not playing with his usual linemates, Evgenii Dadonov registered a game-high seven shots on goal.
