Thursday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Open Forum

Thirty NHL restricted free agents filed for arbitration on Wednesday. Among them was Montreal’s Alex Galchenyuk, who was rumored to be a trade target of the Florida Panthers the week of the expansion and entry drafts. The Canadiens and Galchenyuk came to terms on a three-year, $14.7 million deal ($4.9 million AAV) after the filing. Does this mean Galchenyuk is now off the market or can the Cats pry him away from their division rival with Jason Demers and another asset or two?
