Florida Panthers Deal 5th-Round Draft Pick For Sabres’ Brennan

Overlord Tallon on Florida’s newest blueliner TJ Brennan (official release here):

“T.J. is a young and mobile defenseman with a hard shot, who we are pleased to have acquired. He is a hard working player with an offensive upside, who has averaged almost a point-per-game in the American Hockey League this season. We look forward to his contributions to our organization.”

Read “organization” to mean “San Antonio”. With Dmitry Kulikov on the mend there’s very little room for another defenseman on the Panthers‘ roster, as rookie Colby Robak has earned his ice time, and Nolan Yonkman – captain of the Rampage, after all – is likely to be the odd-man out when Kuli returns. A couple of recent Brennan highlight videos:

Somewhat related: prospect Greg Rallo had a huge game Friday, picking up four points (2G) as San Antonio doubled Houston 4-2. Quinton Howden nabbed a goal and an assist, and goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris (11-12-3-2) stopped 37 Aeros shots for the victory in his eighth-straight start.
