According to a report from the Miami Herald’s George Richards, the Florida Panthers are bringing KHL defenseman Nikolai Belov to training cam on a professional tryout.
The 30-year-old Belov has played 394 games in the KHL with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, Ak Bars Kazan, SKA St. Petersburg and most recently Traktor Chelyabinsk. Belov scored 8 goals and 15 points in 59 games with Traktor last season.

The Panthers will host an Open House today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the BB&T Center. Fans can look at specific seat locations and learn about the benefits of becoming a season ticket holder. Benefits include discounts from box office pricing, flexible payment plans and priority access to Stanley Cup playoff tickets. The event is free and open to the public.

Veteran defenseman Francois Beauchemin signed a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks. The contract has a base salary of $1 million plus up to $500,000 in bonus incentives.
The Tampa Bay Lighting re-signed restricted free agent Tye McGinn to a one-year, tw-way contract. McGinn scored 19 points in 21 games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch last season.
Center Jean-Sebastien Dea signed a one-way, two-way deal to remain with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. Dea played in 73 games (18G/16A) for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and also suited up for his first NHL game with the Penguins last season.
The Columbus Blue Jackets signed Boston University defenseman Doyle Somerby to a two-year, entry-level contract. Somerby was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, but was not signed.
