After a bit of quiet for the 4th of July holiday, offseason business in the NHL resumed with spate of signings. Let’s catch up.

The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Cam York to a five-year, $25.75 million contract that will carry a $5.15 million AAV. York, 24, appeared in 66 games last season, producing four goals, 13 assists and 26 PIM while averaging 20:47 TOI.

Dmitri Voronkov signed a two-year contract worth $8.35 million with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 24-year-old forward posted career highs with 23 goals and 47 points during the 2024-25 season, his second in the NHL, after producing 34 points as rookie.

Jack McBain signed a five-year, $21.25 million contract to remain with the Utah Mammoth. The 25-year-old McBain, who was a restricted free agent and avoided a salary arbitration hearing, set NHL career highs in goals (13) and points (27) while playing in all 82 games last season.

The Montreal Canadiens signed goaltender Jakub Dobes to a new two-year contract worth $1.93 million. Dobes went 7-4-3 in 16 games for the Canadiens last season, posting a 2.74 GAA, .909 save percentage and one shutout. He made three appearances in Montreal’s first round playoff loss to Washington, winning one and losing two.

Former Florida Panthers draft pick Cole Schwindt signed a one-year contract worth $825K to remain with the Vegas Golden Knights. Schwindt suited up in 42 games last season, scoring his first NHL goal and adding seven assists. He appeared in one of Vegas’ postseason games.

The Golden Knights also signed forwards Raphael Lavoie and Jonas Rondbjerg to one-year, two-way deals. Lavoie produced 17 goals and 10 assists in 42 AHL games for the Henderson Silver Knights and played in nine games (no points) for Vegas. Rondbjerg totaled 11 goals and 15 assists in 53 games for Henderson and made 13 appearances (no points) for the Golden Knights.

Forward Marc Gatcomb stayed with the New York Islanders by signing a one-year contract worth $900K. Gatcomb split his time between the NHL and AHL last season, appearing in 39 games with the Islanders (8G/1A) and 35 games with Bridgeport (9G/8A).

The St. Louis Blues signed defenseman Hunter Skinner and goaltender Vadim Zherenko to one-year, two-way contracts. Both prospects spent last season in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Skinner appeared in 71 games and produced 8 goals and 23 points. Zherenko went 12-17-3 with a 3.44 GAA and .897 save percentage.

Brendan Brisson signed a one-year, two-way deal to remain with the New York Rangers. Brisson was acquired from Vegas on March 6. In 16 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack after the trade, the 23-year-old forward scored two goals and added four assists.

The Washington Capitals inked 29-year-old forward Sheldon Rempal to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775K. Rempal spent the 2024-25 season with Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the KHL, where he put up 31 goals and 61 points in 68 regular season games and 21 points in 19 playoffs games.
