Gameday 43: Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

After a two-game road trip, the Florida Panthers (25-15-2) return to Amerant Bank Arena to faceoff against the Boston Bruins (20-19-5) in a matinée matchup that gets the nation treatment on ABC.

Feisty Florida shook off a 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche by a posting a 4-1 victory over the Utah Hockey Club in the first-ever meeting between the two franchises. Jesper Boqvist scored the game-winning goal and added an empty-netter and Sergei Bobrovsky was named Third Star for his stellar 26-save effort. Sam Reinhart and Eetu Luostarinen also turned on the red light for the Panthers at Delta Center.

The Bruins enter today’s tilt on a nasty six-game losing streak that has seen score just 11 times over that span. Boston was beaten 4-1 by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday at Amalie Arena, which cost them third place in the Atlantic Division. David Pastrnak leads the team in all major offensive categories with 17 goals, 25 assists and 42 points.
