NOTES:

First and most importantly: our deepest sympathies to head coach Gerard Gallant, who will not be behind the bench this evening in order to participate in services for his mother who recently passed away. You’ll be in our thoughts, GG.

In case you missed it, Edmonton forward Matt Hendricks was suspended by the Department of Player Safety for his brutal hit on Florida D Aaron Ekblad in Sunday’s game vs the Oilers (official explanation here); Ek is currently listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury…Onward to tonight: F Johnny Gaudreau leads the Flames in all offensive categories with 18G-24A 42P 112 shots & 5 game-winners, while Panthers F Jaromir Jagr paces the Cats with 15G, 32P and a completely ridiculous 20.3 shooting percentage on 74 SOG…G Roberto Luongo is 26-13-3 with 1 shutout lifetime vs Calgary…at the other end, starter Jonas Hiller has a career record of 5-1-0 (2 shutouts) in six appearances against Florida…this is the final match of the Canadian portion of the current trip, as the Panthers inch closer to home on Sunday with the roadie capper from Tampa Bay (5pm)…see any further roster news throughout the day? Post it up below 🙂

NHL.com Preview:

Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr scored 8:11 into the third period for a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames on Nov. 10 at BB&T Center. Jagr earlier assisted on a goal by defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Forward David Jones scored twice for the Flames. (More)

Yahoo.com Preview:

The Flames have gone 1-4-0 at home since a franchise-best 11-game winning streak at the Saddledome. Despite overcoming a two-goal deficit to draw even and yielding a season-low 18 shots Monday, the Flames fell 5-4 at home to San Jose for their sixth defeat in 10 games since winning seven straight. “It’s disappointing,” said forward Sean Monahan, who snapped an eight-game goal drought. “It gets frustrating, it gets tough but you’ve got to find a way to get mentally tough and grind those games out.” (More)
