Gameday 25: Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers (14-9-1) host the Carolina Hurricanes (16-6-1) at Amerant Bank Arena this afternoon in the second segment of the back-to-back between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Florida got goals from six different players, including Sam Reinhart’s league-leading 18th, and a 25-save effort from Sergei Bobrovsky to top the Hurricanes 6-3 in Friday’s meeting at Lenovo Center in Raleigh. A.J. Greer struck the decisive blow early in the third period and Anton Lundell tacked on a shorthanded insurance marker to lift the Cats to victory.

After falling behind 3-1, Carolina rallied to even the tilt thanks to second period markers from Sean Walker and Eric Robinson before dissipating in the final frame. Seth Jarvis scored the first goal for the Hurricanes on a power-play breakaway, and goaltender Spencer Martin, who goes again today, finished with 24 stops in the losing effort.
