Gameday 34: Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes

The surging Florida Panthers (18-13-2) will continue its three-game homestand tonight when the play host to the Eastern Conference-leading Carolina Hurricanes (22-9-2) at Amerant Bank Arena.

Florida will be shooting for its first four-game winning streak of the season. The Cats won three in a row for the third time after completing its first season-series sweep of the Los Angeles Kings since 2019 with a hard-fought 3-2 decision on Wednesday. Anton Lundell, Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett each notched their 11th of the campaign, Brad Marchand had two assists and Daniil Tarasov made 27 saves in Anze Kopitar’s last regular season turn in Sunrise.

The Hurricanes extended its current winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators in Music City on Wednesday. Leading scorer Sebastian Aho had two goals and an assist and Jackson Blake and Seth Jarvis also turned on the red light. Jarvis leads the Bunch of Jerks with 19 goals. Carolina has been getting great goaltender from Brandon Bussi, who was claimed off waivers from Florida, and Pyotr Kochetkov.
