  • NOTES: The Panthers are 2-1-1 this season in the second game of a back-to-back set. With the win over New Jersey last night, the Cats have now won seven of their last nine on the road. New addition Corban Knight has two assists and a +2 rating in his first two games in a Panthers uniform. The Hurricanes are 4-1-1 in their past six, scoring three or more goals in each game of that stretch. Carolina is one of just four teams below the .500 mark in the Eastern Conference. The Canes will be looking to end a four-game losing streak to the Cats./

NHL.com Preview:

The Florida Panthers won their fourth consecutive game against the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-1 at PNC Arena on Oct. 13. Al Montoya made 22 saves and Connor Brickley’s first NHL goal broke a third-period tie. Elias Lindholm scored for Carolina. (More)

Yahoo.com Preview:

Jeff Skinner has the Carolina Hurricanes playing at a high level on offense, but they haven’t had much success in recent meetings with the Florida Panthers. As the veteran winger looks to stay hot, the Hurricanes will try for their fifth win in seven games Friday night by snapping a four-game losing streak to the Panthers. After he scored only five goals over his first 25 games, Skinner has found a groove with nine in his last six. He recorded his second hat trick in three games during Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime loss at Philadelphia. (More)
