Gameday 38: Florida Panthers vs New York Rangers

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers (22-13-2) will try to find the back of the net again when they take on the New York Rangers (16-18-1) tonight at Amerant Bank Arena.

After getting shut out 4-0 by the Tampa Bay Lightning on home ice a week ago, the Panthers got blanked by the same score by the Montreal Canadiens in a lackluster effort on Saturday afternoon in their first game following the holiday break. Despite boasting one of the best offenses in the league, the Cats have been whitewashed four times in their last eight games. Not good with the Atlantic Division tightening.

In a development that would’ve been unfathomable at the beginning of the season, the struggling Rangers have plunged to the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. The Broadway Blueshirts got thrashed 6-2 by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday and have lost six of their last seven games.
