Laura (SLGT): No real need to yet, I feel – Halak’s been lights out in his starts, and Elliott didn’t look too sharp against the Jets. The schedule so far this season has been abnormally light for the Blues, and Halak isn’t in any danger yet of getting tired. I think Elliott is starting against the Panthers Friday, but the big reason for that is the fact that the Blues see the Bolts on Saturday night.

Laura: The top line of T.J. Oshie, David Backes, and Alexander Steen. They’re the team’s top three scorers – Backes has six points so far and Steen’s (shockingly) leading the league in goals at 11. We’re as surprised as everyone else is.

Laura: Aside from Alex Pietrangelo, who is a gimmie for that, I think that Backes, Oshie, Steen, Kevin Shattenkirk, and Vladimir Tarasenko will be hanging around for a while.

Laura: I don’t honestly see any of the prospects making the roster this season unless some huge, apocalyptic nightmare situation happens. If so, or if that happens and the Blues tank after the trade deadline, then Ty Rattie may pop up just to see what he’s made of out of curiosity.

Laura: I certainly hope so, but the Blackhawks are a good team who are built for success for years to come. It’ll take a lot of patience to take them out, and patience sometimes isn’t something that the Blues are always good at.
