Game Three GameDay: Florida Panthers vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta (Filter by TL)

After dropping a pair north of the border, the Florida Panthers return home to host the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight in Game 3 at Amerant Bank Arena. Despite a better start and a power-play goal from Aleksander Barkov midway through the first period that gave them their first lead of the series, the Cats continuing lack of attention to detail resulted in tough 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs in Game 2. Max Pacioretty’s power-play deflection late in the opening frame tied it before Brad Marchand’s first postseason goal as Panther put them back on top early in the second. Toronto would forge ahead on rush goals from William Nylander and Max Domi. Red-hot Anton Lundell drew the Panthers even in third, but Mitch Marner’s stunned the Panthers with a surprising shot from along the right boards that clanged off the far post and in 17 seconds later to give the Maple Leafs another win after the Panthers failed to come up with the equalizer over the last 14:10 of action. The Cats must raise their level tonight and get better goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky to avoid going down 3-0 to a very determined Toronto squad.
