The Florida Panthers (29-25-3) resume play after the three-week break for the 2026 Winter Olympics when they do battle against the Toronto Maple Leafs (27-22-9) tonight in suburban Sunrise.

Florida entered the break on sour note, getting drubbed 6-1 by the Tampa Bay Lightning at Benchmark International Arena. Mackie Samoskevich broke up Andrei Vasilevskiy’s shutout bid by potting his sixth of the season from Jesper Boqvist and Anton Lundell with 10:10 left in the game. The Panthers currently trail the Boston Bruins by eight points for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Maple Leafs come into tonight’s tilt fresh off a 4-2 loss to the division-leading Lightning in Tampa. Matthew Knies porduced a goal and an assist; John Tavares notched a power-play goal; and WIlliam Nylander assisted on both goals. Toronto is 3-6-1 over its last ten games.
