The Panthers visit Winnipeg for the first of three games this season. The Cats lost their last outing against the Jets in a shootout and will be looking to take two points this time. The Jets are coming off a 7-game road trip, finishing with a 6-5 overtime loss to the Sabres on Tuesday.

Last meeting

The Jets beat the Panthers in a shootout in Sunrise on Halloween. After trailing for most of the game, Tomas Fleischmann would tie it early in the third and score again for the Panthers’ first lead with just over 2 minutes left. Evander Kane would tie the game for the Jets with 50 seconds remaining in the third.

Last game

The Panthers got goals from three lines as Florida beat the Maple Leafs 5-1 at Air Canada Centre on Tuesday. Jack Skille got his first of the season to open the scoring. Marco Sturm and Tomas Kopecky scored 19 seconds apart late in the second to chase goaltender Jonas Gustavsson. Ben Scrivens would fare no better, giving up goals to Sean Bergenheim and Shawn Matthias on 7 shots. Jose Theodore made 38 saves in the win and gave up the lone goal to the league leader, Phil Kessel.
