Notable:

Recently acquired forwards Jiri Hudler and Teddy Purcell are expected to play this evening; D Jakub Kindl was recalled Monday from Portland – a formality – so he may ultimately end up on the roster as well. G Al Montoya (upper body) has been temporarily replaced in the backup role by AHL Pirates netminder Mike McKenna on emergency recall.

NHL.com Preview:

It’s the start of a five-game homestand for Winnipeg, which split road games at the Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start Tuesday, but coach Paul Maurice has not confirmed. Defenseman Adam Pardy was claimed off waivers by the Edmonton Oilers, but Maurice said that there will not be a player recalled from Manitoba of the AHL to replace him. “[Paul Postma] will come in and play on a regular basis,” Maurice said. Forward Mathieu Perreault (personal) did not practice, but he is expected to play. (More)

Yahoo.com Preview:

“I like our team once we’re healthy, like what our young guys have brought to the table,” Tallon said. “We have a lot of depth now with the acquisitions. We had a good week and we improved our club with a defenseman and two forwards.” Neither of the three were in uniform for Sunday’s 3-1 loss at Minnesota that followed a 3-0-2 stretch. Hudler and Purcell still are working through visa issues, but they’ll be able to play against the Jets (26-31-4) with the game being in Canada. Their statuses for Thursday’s game at Colorado are unclear. (More)
