After sweeping the 2024 NHL Global Series Finland, the Florida Panthers continue preparations for Thursday night’s game against the Nashville Predators at Amerant Bank Arena. It will be the first game on home ice since October 22.
Last night, six of the eight teams in the Atlantic Division were in action. The Toronto Maple Leafs cruised to a 4-0 win over the Boston Bruins and, coupled with the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 3-2 road loss to the St. Louis Blues, climbed into second place. Former Panther Anthony Stolarz made 29 saves to post his first shutout as a member of the Buds. Toronto is three points behind the Cats, who hold a game in hand. In the struggle buggy section of the division, the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-1, dropping the Sens to .500, and the Montreal Canadiens fell 3-2 to the visiting Calgary Flames when Matthew Coronato scored his second goal of the game seven seconds into overtime.
The Detroit Red Wings will get the national spotlight tonight when they face Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on TNT.
