NHL Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Wednesday Open Forum

According to CapFriendly, the Florida Panthers have re-signed restricted free agents Jayce Hawryluk and Samuel Montembeault.

Both players have reportedly inked one-year, two-way deals with Hawryluk’s counting for $874,125 at the NHL level and Montembeault’s coming in at a team-friendly $708,750. Each contract pays $70K at the AHL level.

We still await official word of these new contracts from the team.

The Panthers remaining unsigned RFAs are MacKenzie Weegar (arbitration hearing July 22), Ian McCoshen, Denis Malgin, Dryden Hunt and Thomas Schemitsch. Maxim Mamin was also qualified, but is expected to remain in the KHL.

The Minnesota Wild signed forwards Ryan Donato and Nico Sturm and defenseman Carson Soucy to new contracts. (Hockey Wilderness)

Ben Thomas signed a new one-year, one-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Thomas has spent the entirety of his pro career with the Syracuse Crunch, so far. (Tampa Bay Lightning)

The Los Angeles Kings re-signed goaltender Cal Petersen to a three-year deal worth $2.575 million. Petersen went 5-4-1 in 11 games with the Kings in 2018-19. (Jewels From The Crown)

Connor Carrick re-upped with the New Jersey Devils, signing a two-year contract worth $3 million. Carrick put up 7 points in 20 games with the Devils last year. (All About The Jersey)
