The Calgary Flames signed restricted free agent forward Connor Zary to three-year contract worth $11.325 million. Zary produced 13 goals and 14 assists in 57 games during the 2024-25 season, his second in the NHL.
The final year of Carey Price’s contract was traded to the San Jose Sharks by the Montreal Canadiens along with a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft for prospect defenseman Gannon Laroque on Friday. The 38-year-old Price has not played an NHL game since April 29, 2022.
Hockey Hall of Famer Ken Dryden, whose impeccable goaltending helped the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup six times in the 1970s and later became an author, television analyst, hockey executive and a member of Canada’s Parliament, passed away Friday after battling cancer. He was 78. RIP.
