Wednesday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The 24 prospects invited to the Florida Panthers development camp took part in the final practice at Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs yesterday. The Kiddie Cats will get some time off before heading up to Wesley Chapel for the four-team Prospect Showcase Tournament involving the host Tampa Bay Lightning. NHL signings

The Detroit Red Wings re-upped restricted free agent forward Givani Smith to a two-year contract worth $1.5 million. Smith, 23, suited up in 16 games with the  Red Wings (1G/3A) and 25 games with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins (9G/6A) in 2020-21. (Winging It In Motown)

The St. Louis Blues kept veteran forward Tyler Bozak in the fold by signing the unrestricted free agent to a one-year deal worth the league minimum of $750K. Bozak, 35, appeared in 31 games during the 2020-21 season and produced five goals and 17 points for the Blues. (St, Louis Game Time)
