Reilly Smith scored 7:13 into overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Edmonton. Jonathan Marchessault set up two goals for the Golden Knights while Patrick Kane had three helpers for Chicago.

Carolina Hurricanes 3, Boston Bruins 2

Anothe ex-Panther had a big hand in his team’s win yesterday as James Reimer filled in for starter Petr Mrazek and made 33 saves in the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins. Dougie Hamilton scored  the game-winning goal 8:30 into the third period as Carolina evened the series at a game apiece.

Columbus Blue Jackets 3, Tampa Bay Lightning 1

After stopping an NHL playoff record 85 shots in Game 1, Joonas Korpisalo made 36 savesto backstop the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Toronto. Ryan Murray,  Oliver Bjorkstrand and Alexander Wennberg scored the goals for Columbus.
