The Florida Panthers (1-0) hit the road for the first time this season, paying a visit to the Ottawa Senators for the opposition’s season-opener at Canadian Tire Centre.
Sam Bennett scored twice in the first period to power the Cats to a 6-4 win over arch-rival Boston at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday. Also scoring for the Panthers were Eetu Luostarinen, Sam Reinhart (SHG), Johan Gadjovich and Evan Rodrigues. Newcomers A.J. Greer and Jesper Boqvist each collected an assist.
The Senators will roll out new starting goaltender Linus Ullmark, who will be counted on to get the rebuilding team over the hump and back into playoffs. Yesterday, Ullmark signed a four-year, $33 million contract extension with the club.
