Tow teams who played yesterday will go again today when the Florida Panthers (31-19-3) when they host the New York Islanders (24-20-7) this evening at Amerant Bank Arena to finish off a three-game homestand.
The Panthers are in position to have a perfect homestand after shutting out the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday and then dominating the Chicago Blackhawks by a 5-1 count on Saturday afternoon. Sam Reinhart scored a goal and added two assists and Johah Gadjovich, Matthew Tkachuk, Evan Rodrigues and Carter Verhaeghe also scored against the Blackhawks.
The Islanders hit Sunrise on a season-high seven-game winning streak. Defenseman Tony DeAngelo converted a breakaway 33 seconds into overtime to lift the Islanders to a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena. Former Panther Adam Boqvist scored in his debut for his new team after being claimed on waivers on Friday.
