Goc Helps Adler Mannheim Stay On Top

Florida Panthers center Marcel Goc notched his fifteenth assist of the season for Adler Mannheim during a 4-1 victory over the Hannover Scorpions in Sunday action from the D.E.L. (German Elite League). Goc was very involved in the action, taking four shots on goal while finishing with +1 rating. He was flanked again by Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht on the Eagles top line. Hecht, Pominville and defenseman Dennis Seidenberg each finished with three points in the impressive road win. Goc set up a power play goal by Seidenberg with 26 seconds remaining in the second period to extend Adler’s lead to 4-0.

Jochen Hecht opened the scoring at the 2:48 mark of the first period. Pominville and Mike Glumac collected assists on the even strength goal.

Hecht would score again at 8:11 of the second period to put Adler ahead by two. Pominville drew his second assist of the night while Dennis Seidenberg also picked up a helper on the power play goal.

Pominville scored his fifth goal in just six D.E.L. games from Hecht and Seidenberg with goaltender Dennis Endras pulled for an extra attacker on a delayed penalty call to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

Goc would get the primary assist on Seidenberg’s power play marker late in the second frame. Jochen Hecht picked up the secondary assist.

Hannover’s David Sulkovsky finally solved Endras at 13:54 of the third period to break the goose egg.

The win kept the Eagles three points ahead of Kolner Haie at the top of the standings with Kolner still holding three games in hand.

Marcel Goc now has 19 points (4G/15A) in 18 games this season.

Adler Mannheim will take a short break from D.E.L. play to participate in the 2012 Spengler Cup held in Davos, Switzerland. The Eagles will take on Team Canada in their first match of the tournament on December 26th.
