Goc Picks Up Two Points In Return To Action For Adler Mannheim

Florida forward scores the eventual game-winner, sets up a another in 6-2 victory.

Florida Panthers center Marcel Goc returned to duty for Adler Mannheim during a 6-2 rout of Krefeld Pinguine in Friday action from the D.E.L. (German Elite League). Goc was flanked by recent Adler signees Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht, giving the Eagles a powerful first line which combined for nine points in the easy home ice win. Goc scored the third goal during a five goal first period outburst and set up the final tally of the stanza. He finished with a +1 rating, three shots on goal and picked up a roughing minor in the second period.

Yannic Seidenberg ignited the scoring binge early for Adler, beating Krefeld goaltender Scott Langkow 35 seconds after the opening face off.

Marc El-Sayed would strike with Mannheim shorthanded just over four minutes later to make the score 2-0 for the Eagles.

Goc would get his fourth goal of the season with assists going to Pominville and Hecht at the 10:35 mark.

Hecht would score an even strength goal with Pominville and Dennis Seidenberg collecting the helpers before combining with Goc to set up Mike Glumac's power play goal to round out the first period scoring.

In the second period. Richard Pavlikovsky finally put Krefeld on the board by beating Dennis Endras at the 1:01 mark. Boris Blank and Christian Ehrhoff picked up assists on the power play goal.

Jochen Hecht scored his second goal and fourth point of the game while on the power play to make it 6-1 Adler. Pominville picked up his third assist of the night while Dennis Seidenberg notched his second.

Richard Pavlikovsky scored again on the power play in the third period to complete the scoring.

The win gave Adler Mannheim sole possession of first place in the D.E.L. standings. Alder now leads Kolner Haie by three points with Kolner holding three games in hand.

Marcel Goc now has 18 points (4G/14A) in 17 games this season.
