The Florida Panthers continued adding depth for the 2024-25 campaign by signing defenseman Jaycob Megna to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775K at the NHL level and $450K at the minor league level.

Megna, 31, opened the 2023-24 season as a spare part with the Seattle Kraken before he was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Blackhawks on January 3. He collected an assist against the New York Rangers making his debut with his new team a day later.

With the Blackhawks, Megna (6′-6″, 220 lbs) appeared in a total of 44 games and finished the season with two assists and 22 PIM.

A seventh round pick (210th overall) of the Anaheim Ducks in 2012, Megna, who was born in Plantation, has played 185 NHL regular season games (4G/23A) and also has 370 games of AHL experience.
