Panthers sign UFA forwards Jonathan Marchessault and Colton Sceviour

After surprising fans with the signing of goaltender James Reimer, the Florida Panthers quickly inked two UFA forwards in Jonathan Marchessault and Colton Sceviour.

Both players were signed for two years. The Marchessault deal has an AAV of $750K and Sceviour’s an AAV of $950K.

Marchessault, a undrafted player, suited up for 45 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. The 25-year-old bagged 7 goals and 11 assists. He also saw action in five of Tampa Bay’s postseason games, collecting one assist.

Sceviour, 27, is an accomplished AHL scorer who has spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Stars. In 2015-16, Sceviour scored a career-high 12 goals and finished with 23 points, three less than he had in 2014-15 in his first full NHL season.
