LBC GameThread: USA – Finland battle for the bronze

Team USA will be looking to shake off yesterday’s heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Canada this morning against Finland. The Finns dropped an equally tough 2-1 decision to their rival, Sweden. Despite only playing in two games before getting hurt, Florida Panthers rookie Aleksander Barkov could bring home a medal. It would be nice for him to have something to show for the knee injury which may cost him the rest of the NHL regular season. The US team has not collected back-to-back medals in the Olympics since winning silver-silver-gold in 1952, 1956, and 1960.

In Panther news, defenseman Dylan Olsen has been recalled from AHL San Antonio. The Cats are back in action on Thursday, when they host the Washington Capitals at the BB&T Center.
