LBC Thursday Playoff Game Thread

Two teams who breezed through the first round with relative ease will do battle tonight at TD Garden in Beantown to open the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Top-seeded Boston dispatched the Detroit Red Wings in a gritty series that went five games. Montreal swept aside the Tampa Bay Lightning, who were missing number one goaltender Ben Bishop, in four straight.

This will be the 34th time the two clubs will do battle in the postseason. Montreal holds a 24-9 advantage in series wins, but Boston has taken the last two meetings. The B’s most recent win was in the opening round of the 2011 playoffs.
