Linus Eriksson will be the only Florida Panthers prospect taking part at this year’s World Junior Summer Showcase, which begins today at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
Eriksson, who recently attended his second development camp in Fort Lauderdale, will be playing for Team Sweden at the event, which serves as an evaluation camp for 2026 World Junior Championship roster selection.
Eriksson was Florida’s first selection (second round – 58th overall) in the 2024 NHL Draft. He’s a high floor, low ceiling center with plenty of speed and a high-revving motor who produced three goals and 11 points in 29 games for Djurgårdens IF in HockeyAllsvenskan during his draft season.
This past season saw the 19-year-old split his playing time between Djurgårdens, where he scored a goal and collected three assists in 18 games, and on loan to Swedish Hockey League club, Timrå IK. In 18 SHL games, Eriksson notched his first top-level goal and assist. He played in four of Timrå’s six games in their first round playoff loss to Frölunda HC.
