Florida Panthers prospect Linus Eriksson scored an empty-net goal and added an assist in Sweden’s impressive 6-3 win over the United States at the World Junior Summer Showcase in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

Eriksson centered Sweden’s third line and was flanked by Filip Ekberg (Carolina) and Eric Nilsson (Anaheim). Nilsson is the son of former Panther Marcus Nilsson.

The Panthers’ second-round pick in 2024 drew the secondary assist on Nilsson’s breakaway goal (GWG) with 2:03 left in the second period that made the score 4-2 and tallied with 51 seconds remaining to complete the scoring, with the assists going to his new linemates.

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed defenseman Dylan Samberg to a three-year contract worth $17.25 million. Last season, Samberg played in 60 regular season games, recording a career-high 20 points (6G/14A) and +34 rating.

The Calgary Flames inked center Martin Pospisil to a new three-year contract worth $7.5 million. Pospisil appeared in 81 games with the Flames last season and produced four goals and 25 points.
