Marcel Goc Goes Scoreless In Debut With Mannheim

Florida’s Marcel Goc centered Adler Mannheim’s first line flanked by LW Marcus Kink and RW Michael Glumac. He didn’t post any points but had five shots on goal and an even +/- rating in the win. Leonard Pföderl opened the scoring for the Ice Tigers at 13:45 of the first period. Adler Mannheim tied the game up a few minutes later on the power play with defenseman Doug Janik scoring off assists from Gluman and Frank Mauer. In the second period, center Christoph Ullman put Adler ahead for good with an even strength goal coming at 15:41 of the frame. Wingers Adam Mitchell and Kenneth Magowan picked up assists on the play. In the third, Adler extended their lead to 3-1, striking again on the power play as LW Matthias Plachta got the goal with assists going to Ronny Arendt and Marcus Kink. Former NHLer Yan Stastny pulled the Ice Tigers within a goal by scoring with eleven seconds left and the Nürnberg net empty but it was too little, too late. The Eagles outshot the Ice Tigers 44-29 with Dennis Endras picking up the win in goal. Endras was named first star of the game for his efforts. Adler Mannheim raised their record to 4-1 on the season while Nürnberg lost their first of the campaign. Goc is the first of the Panthers locked out regulars to suit up overseas so far.
