Monday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers GameDay Open Forum

Move over Brian Campbell, there’s a new sheriff in town. Over the past 6 games, Mike Weaver has led the Panthers in scoring from the blueline with 4 assists including two against Tampa Bay on Saturday, only his 4th career multi-point night in 516 career games. After a training camp concussion and inconsistent play in his first games back, Weaver has found a new constant in his play; offense. Weavs has also racked up 14 shots in 13 games, a torrid pace that may see him set a new career high in that category in a shortened season. Fantasy team gold, kids.

To add to his offense, Weaver has strung together several good defensive efforts on a blueline corps desperately needing stability in the last few contests. Add in 27 blocked shots(1st on the team), 31 hits(3rd) and 3:45 SHTOI/G (1st) at the quarter mark of the season and you’ve got another outbreak of WeaverFever on the rise. Don’t feed him to your pets…or they shall die.

Head on down to Pension Plan Puppets, where they talk more Weaver than any other place on the internet. Also, they cover the Toronto Maple Leafs, who the Panthers will be playing tonight at 7:30 EST. On the Cats side, LBC has you covered from all angles.
