Michael Yormark leaving Florida Panthers

Many a Panther fan awoke to quite the juicy rumor this morning, one that I first heard from WQAM’s Jose Rose on my ride to work. The said rumor being that Florida Panthers President & CEO Michael Yormark was leaving the organization to head up the business side of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.

There is no official word from the club as of yet, but according to beat-writers George Richards and Harvey Fialkov,  it appears Yorkmark is indeed out, and will be replaced as team president by Rory Babich, who is currently a senior adviser to majority owner Vinnie Viola.

Yormark had been with Sunrise Sports & Entertainment since 2003, when he started out as COO. It is being reported that he will not retain his one percent ownership stake in the franchise or have any role with the Panthers or SSE going forward.

This is huge bit of news for our franchise, so let your thoughts fly below.

LBC will keep you updated on any new news as it becomes available.
