MacKenzie Weegar’s arbitration hearing scheduled for July 30
Forty-four NHL restricted free agents, including Florida Panthers defenseman MacKenzie Weegar, filed for arbitration. Since then, half of those players have signed new deals with their clubs while the other half has had hearings scheduled.
Winnipeg’s Jacob Trouba was the first to have his case go before an arbitrator on Friday, July 20. Trouba was awarded a one-year contract worth $5.5 million on Sunday. The Jets have 48 hours to accept the decision or Trouba becomes an unrestricted free agent. (Arctic Ice Hockey)

The arbitrator has 48 hours to render a decision after a hearing is held. The player and team can agree to a contract any time before then.
Third Jersey
The Anaheim Ducks revealed a new third jersey over the weekend. It’s an updated version of the original eggplant and jade jersey anchored in black, that links the club’s past and present. (Anaheim Ducks)

New signings
Defenseman Matt Dumba agreed to terms on a five-year, $30 million contract with the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. His new deal has an annual average value of $6 million. (Hockey Wilderness)
The Winnipeg Jets signed right wing Brandon Tanev to a one-year deal worth $1.15 million, avoiding arbitration. Tanev set career-highs with 8 goals, 10 assists and 18 points in 61 games. (Arctic Ice Hockey)
