Panthers’ Sean Bergenheim, Mike Santorelli sign in Europe

Florida Panthers players Sean Bergenheim and Mike Santorelli have both signed to play for teams in Europe during the NHL lockout, as some other NHL players have opted to do. Begenheim has signed with HIFK in Finland’s SM-liiga while Santorelli has signed with Tingsyrd with Sweden’s Allsvenskan, which is Tier two behind the Swedish Elite League.

Last season, Bergenheim’s seventh in the NHL and his first with the Panthers, Bergenheim played in 62 games, scoring 17 goals and recording six assists during the regular season. During the playoffs, he scored three goals and three assists in seven games.

In his second year with the Panthers, Santorelli played in 60 games, scoring nine goals and recording two assists in the regular season. Santorelli was not on the Panthers roster for the postseason.
